These are the essentials you won't want to be without (trust us).

While we hope you don't have any emergencies on your day, it's always better to be safe than sorry—so we suggest having those just-in-case items on hand to make sure your wedding goes off without a hitch. Our advice? The matron or maid of honor should pack them in a makeup or tote bag and stash it in a safe but easy-to-access place during the wedding reception. 

We've listed the essentials below, and feel free to add optional non-beauty items like aspirin, Band-Aids, a granola bar and Krazy Glue (for heel and jewelry fixes) too, just in case. (Pro tip: If you don't want to DIY your emergency kit, you can also purchase a ready-made one with all travel-size toiletries perfect for packing on your honeymoon.)

Breath Mints: Get your mouth ready for that first kiss (and all the small talk you'll be doing at your reception) with mini mints. 

Tweezers: From stray hairs to clumped lashes, you'll never know when they'll come in handy. 

Blotting Papers: Your makeup artist will know how to keep shininess at bay, but it doesn't hurt to have some oil-absorbing sheets if your nerves are causing some excess sweatiness. 

Clear Polish: No matter what kind of manicure you're getting, a nice clear polish will smooth out any smudges or unexpected chips for the perfect #ringselfie. 

Lipstick: It's the one makeup item you should carry throughout the night so you can touch up often with your shade of choice. Bonus points if it's moisturizing and can do double-duty as a lip balm. 

Tissues: You'll want some Kleenex for dabbing away happy tears (and keeping your eye makeup on point). 

Hair Spray: Your hairstylist likely can't follow you around all night, so splurge on a high-quality formula to make sure your 'do stays put.

Fragrance: All you need is a tried-and-true rollerball so you can dab a scent on your pulse points to smell amazing all day. 

Face Mist: One spritz of a high-quality face mist or makeup setter can do wonders—not only does it feel refreshing and calming for your skin, but it can help your makeup stay put too. 

Stain Remover: A portable stain-removing pen will be your best friend if a sudden red wine spill threatens to deter your day (don't worry—you'll be fine).
